What to Do in Los Angeles!

Updated: Aug 17, 2018

Los Angeles is the second largest city in the US and there are so many things to do. Here I'll give you an introduction of what to do in LA in 1 or 2 days.

Wohooo I’m finally writing my first post! Excited!

What better way to start a Travel Blog than by talking about my current city, Los Angeles. Millions of people (and cars) roam this city every day, yes there is a lot of traffic every single day, but the city has its charm and I would 100% recommend everybody who can, to come visit because it is worth it.

There are so many things to do in LA that you will need to come back several times for sure, but I will point out here the MUSTS when you come to LA, even if it is for just one day.

Hollywood Boulevard

You have to visit the boulevard.

You’ll see the Hollywood Walk of Fame and your favorite celebrities' stars on the floor.

Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Dolby Theater, where the Oscars are held annually, formerly known as the Kodak Theater; El Capitan Theater, which is owned by Disney and where all Disney’s premieres happen; Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop, just yummy; and the Hollywood & Highland Mall where you can find many stores and from where you can get a glimpse of the Hollywood Sign.

Grauman’s Chinese Theater

You'll also see the Grauman’s Chinese Theater, where the biggest celebrities have printed their hands and feet in concrete, and where most of the movie premiers happen.

Griffith Observatory

The view of LA from this place is incredible!! You really can’t go wrong by visiting this iconic place of the city. Is one of the highest points, you get to learn about astronomy and everything related to it, and best of all, is free! If you have time, I recommend you to attend one of the Samuel Oschin Planetarium shows because it is a one of a kind experience and only $7 per person.

Farmers’ Market/The Grove

Fresh produce, great restaurants, a movie theater and one of the most picturesque places in LA? Yep!! Is a must! These two places are right beside each other, and you can even hop on the trolley and go from one end to the other in no time.

The Grove is a very beautiful open mall where going just to take pictures is worth it. It gets decorated depending on the holiday and season, and it gets fake snow on Christmas! 🙂 Here you can find the famous Sprinkles Cupcakes, which always, always has a line, but they are delicious. On the other end, the Farmers’ Market offers delicious food, ice creams, desserts and it has all kinds of little shops where you can find things such as unique candles, clothes, creams and is where I buy my meats and my incense.

Santa Monica/Venice Beach

You have to visit the famous Santa Monica Pier where Route 66 ends (It starts somewhere in Chicago). You can see the Ferris Wheel, have a bite at one of the many delicious restaurants and watch the surfers take on the waves. Right by the pier is the original Santa Monica Muscle Beach, where you can see many people exercising on the free outdoor workout equipment. Sometimes you can even see professional acrobats and bodybuilders practicing there. In Venice Beach you can visit the Venice Beach Boardwalk where you will see many skateboarders and roller-skaters, people walking with their dogs, the other Muscle Beach made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger and lots of shops and restaurants. If you want to feel the Californian beach atmosphere, this is the place to go.

These are only highlights of what to do in LA. We haven’t even scratched the surface yet. Stay tuned for future posts, and feel free to ask any questions and let me know which places in LA you want to know more about in the comments section.
